Laurel Workman
Born in Denver, Colorado, Laurel moved to Arizona with her family in 1981. Although she remains a die-hard Denver Broncos fan, having attended both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, Laurel maintains (albeit conflicting) alliance to both the Wildcats and the Sun Devils.
With a career in criminal litigation spanning over 20 years, Laurel practices law in all Arizona courts and handles criminal cases spanning from petty crimes to first degree murder. Beginning her career as a prosecutor, Laurel has worked with the United States Attorney’s Office, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and the Phoenix City Prosecutors Office. After working as a prosecutor for several years, Laurel decided to become a defense attorney after being stricken by the plight of those “stuck in the system.” In 2001 Laurel opened the doors of her first law practice and started a successful career as a criminal defense attorney. Today, she is proud to be in business with her brother, Benjamin.
Laurel’s interest in the practice of law began at a young age after watching her aunt, the Honorable Judge Margaret L. Workman; succeed in the practice of law. Laurel continues to stay abreast of the latest changes in the law by attending seminars and reading the latest case law relative to all areas of criminal law.
As a breast cancer survivor, Laurel dedicates her free time and efforts to a variety of non-profit organizations including the American Cancer Society, the Phoenix Rescue Mission and the Arizona Humane Society. In addition, Laurel has served on the board of directors for a local non- profit organization (Phoenix Area Rottweiler Rescue) and dedicates a number of hours to volunteer legal work for those in need.
